A Visit With Nana

We had one roller coaster of a week, and Nana decided to come pay us a visit. Thank you Nana! We had a great time just relaxing and going on a few outings. William was so excited to see his Nana that he tried to pulling her into the house on Friday night. So cute! On Saturday we headed to Botanical Gardens. That place is so relaxing and we love looking at all of the gorgeous plants and flowers. The bluebonnets are starting to bloom, but they should be awesome in about 2-3 weeks. William had a great time running around the garden and investigating all of the exhibits. After Will's nap we headed to one of our local parks and flew William's new Cars kite that his Nana bought him. He loved it and actually flew it for the first time. He really enjoyed chasing it more than flying it, but the kite is awesome! Daddy really enjoyed flying it the most. On Sunday we took a train ride around Brackenridge Park and then poor Nana had a 7 hour drive home. It normally doesn't take that long, but with Spring Break ending and everybody in the world deciding to head on IH-35 North on Sunday it took her forever. Thank you Nana for such a wonderful visit and for sacrificing your entire Sunday to drive home.

Here are some pictures from our weekend.

Spring Break Weekend

Is it Monday already?! BOO!!! That means it is time to get back to teaching for Mommy. We had a very quiet, but productive weekend. On Saturday we got 2 new tires for Grandma Paula's old car. For those who may not know Colby is still working on his truck, and hopefully will have it fixed in a few weeks. Rod and Patt have been nice enough to lend us Grandma Paula's old car until the truck is working. WOO HOO!!! After the tires we did some shopping and Colby got a haircut. He goes to this great little barber shop by his work, and they all wanted to cut Will's hair. Just for the record it isn't long! William was so worried about his Dad the whole time that there was no way we could convince him to have his haircut. Maybe in a few weeks. We went to church on Sunday and Will had a great time playing in the nursery. He had a hard time at first, but after a few minutes of play he didn't even remember that we were gone. Going to church is a little bittersweet because our church is moving to a new facility at the end of the year, and we just love our little church now. It was the church we were married in and the church where Will was baptized. We will just have to make some happy memories in the new church. :-) The good thing is that the old church is going to be used by both the Lutheran and Episcopal churches for ministers interested in college ministries. We love the fact that it will remain a church! After Will's afternoon nap we headed to the park for a bit to enjoy the beautiful weather. We were so thankful to get the rain last week, but poor little Will was desperate to get out. If he can spend 20 hours a day outside we are pretty sure he would.

Have a great week everyone! We are starting to plan Will's big 2nd birthday bash, and we will post more info as soon as we can. Enjoy the pics from this weekend.

A Tate Family Reunion

We headed to Grandma and Pawpaw's this weekend for a mini-Tate family reunion at Uncle Edd and Aunt Gayle's on Saturday. We had such a great time seeing everyone, and William had fun playing with all of his second cousins. We had some yummy food and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside. Edd and Gayle have a gorgeous backyard that is big enough for everyone to relax and enjoy each others company. It was pretty long day with 6 hours being spent in the car, but William was such a trooper. He slept really well on Saturday night and we all awoke to "Pawpaw! Cows! Out! Door! Cows!" on Sunday morning. William is obsessed with his Pawpaw and his horses and cows. We are still all so puzzled as to how the child had so much energy with not a whole lot of sleep this weekend. On Sunday afternoon we headed to Patillo (Grandma and Pawpaw's new home) to help Pawpaw drop off a cow trough. It was all a bit spur of the moment, but great fun. We even got to visit with Aunt Brenda for a bit. So much fun!

William and Mommy stayed through mid-day on Monday so that Will could get a good night's sleep while Daddy headed to San Antonio around 3:30AM to make it to work. We were all a bit tired yesterday, but had a great weekend.

Here are some pictures from our grand adventures!

We might be lucky enough to see Nana this weekend, and can't wait!

Six Flags and Our Weekend

We had a rough start to our weekend, but it ended on a very fun note!

Friday Mommy had to take William to the doctor. He has been having some difficulty breathing and then developed some wheezing with a wheezing cough. Looks like he has the beginnings of asthma, although right now they are calling it Reactive Airway Disease. It is most likely sparked by allergy season, but we need to keep an eye on it. Right now he is on a nebulizer every 4-6 hours, but he is doing SO much better.

Saturday we pretty much just hung around the house so that William could get rested, but we did have something exciting happen! William kept asking for Pawpaw. He would grab the phone and say "Pawpaw." At first we thought he was referring to Daddy, but quickly figured out that he was actually asking for Grandpa. I guess its true that the kids will eventually choose your name. Sorry Grandpa, but your new name is Pawpaw. Something tells us you don't mind one bit though ;-)

Today we had some fun! After Will's afternoon nap we decided to head to Six Flags Fiesta, TX for a couple of hours. Grandma and Pawpaw gave us season passes for Christmas and this weekend was Opening Weekend. We had such a great time together and the weather was just perfect. The park just opened a new Wiggles World specifically designed for the little ones. We went on a few rides there and let William play on the S.S. Feathersword play boat. Then we took a train ride around the park, and then walked around some. William's favorite ride by far was the merry-go-round. He just loved it! Even Daddy went on a ride by himself! We can't wait to go back and have some more fun!! Here are some pictures from our adventure.

Have a great week everyone!
