Art for Arthritis

A few updates...

Colby's new job is still going well. He is really enjoying it and starting to get some projects going. We are still very excited about this opportunity.

Nonno and Nina came for a week visit this past week. They left very early yesterday morning to head back to Kentucky. They were here looking for homes because they will be moving to the area in about 3 weeks. The pictures are still on the camera so hopefully they will be posted soon. We had a very nice visit with them, and William misses his Nonno.

Yesterday William hosted a fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation at ArtWorks Art Studio in Garden Ridge. We had about 20 children show up, and for an hour they were able to play with different art stations. William enjoyed about 5 minutes of it, but the rest of the kids really seemed to have a great time. ArtWorks is a very cool little art studio for kids. It was AWESOME! We were also able to raise about $50 in just an hour. Fantastic! We are so thankful to all of the mommy and kiddos who came out for the event! THANK YOU!

A few of William in action ;-)

Not so happy about the apron

We are relaxing today and getting the house ready for some visitors this weekend. Nana and Memaw are coming this weekend for the Arthritis Walk, and we can't wait to see the both of them. We have a very busy weekend planned, but I am sure there will be pictures up sometime next week! If you are still interested in donating to The Arthritis Foundation click on this link.

We hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

A Boy and His Horse

This past weekend we headed to Brownwood to spend some time with Grandma (now Memaw) and Pawpaw. This was the first time William didn't sleep in his pack and play, and all things considered it went fairly well. Memaw set up a mattress on the floor, and we of course supplied Will's favorite blanket and bear. Someone had to sleep with him the whole night, but he did it! Woo hoo!

On Saturday we drove up to Lone Camp to celebrate cousin Dani's 3rd birthday. She had a princess themed birthday party and the kids had such a great time together. Uncle R.T. took some of the kids for a ride in the pasture to check out the cows. Will was so excited that he kept shouting "BABY COW!!! BABY COW!!!! BABY COW!!!" It was really cute and made us all laugh. We also got to meet David and Michelle's twin boys for the first time. They are just darling. We had so much fun at Dani's birthday party!

Sunday was a big day for William...he rode his horse Tess for the first time!!! He did so well. At first he wanted someone to ride with him so our friend Jacey jumped on. Will loves Jacey! After the Jacey left Will rode all by himself. Such a big boy!!! William asked Memaw to take her for a walk and then when William was tired of walking Memaw asked him if he would like to ride on Tess, and he replied "Yes!". So off they went. It was so cute to watch and Tess is a great horse. Thank you to Memaw and Pawpaw! Here are some pictures of Will and his horse.

We had a wonderful weekend with family and have spent the beginning part of this week enjoying some family time together. We went to the zoo on Monday morning with Daddy and that was a blast. Will loves the zoo! Colby started his job yesterday afternoon, and so far so good. He seems to really like it, and the commute isn't as terrible as he thought. Hopefully it will stay that way! :-)

Nonno should be arriving this afternoon, and as always poor William has a cold. It seems that every time Nonno comes William gets a cold. We have been taking it easy today and Will is not as fussy as yesterday, so hopefully this cold will be gone quickly!

Until next time,

Hip Hip Hooray!

Today has been a FANTASTIC day for the Tate family! We have BIG news concerning both of the boys :-)

This morning Colby accepted a job with StanBio Laboratories in Boerne, Texas. He will be the Special Projects Coordinator. He is so excited about working for this company!!! Colby will begin his new job on Wednesday, well Tuesday if you count new hire paperwork. We are all so excited about this opportunity for Colby and our family. Thank you to all of our family and friends for their more than generous and heartfelt support these past few months. You all are amazing and we are very blessed to have you in our lives.

Our second big news story of the day is that William is now sleeping in a toddler bed. Daddy converted William's crib into a toddler bed and we are hoping all goes well this evening. Once the bed was converted William climbed in and said "WOW!" It was really cute. He did pretty well going to bed this evening. He is just too tall for his crib now, especially the travel crib, and we think it is time for him to sleep in the toddler bed. The transition is most likely going to be harder on Mommy than William. With the move to the big boy bed and the potty training we think Mommy might just cry! Her baby boy is getting too big!!!

Here are some pictures of William and his "new" bed.

WOW!

We are headed out tomorrow afternoon to Brownwood for the weekend. We are going to Dani's 3rd birthday party on Saturday. We can't wait to see family.

Hugs,

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of our favorite mom's out there, and especially to Nana and Grandma! We hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

We are having a GREAT day! William and Daddy surprised Mommy with a hanging planter of pretty flowers and a fantastic gift card to her favorite scrapbooking store. She can't wait to use it. :-)

We had a very quiet morning at home. William was still tired from all of our birthday party fun yesterday so we decided to take it easy. This afternoon we headed to the Botanical Gardens, but boy was it hot out. So we didn't stay too long, but we had a nice time together. The flowers are blooming and are beautiful. After that we headed to Central Market to buy some yummy desserts, chocolate covered strawberries and cheesecake. Yummy! We plan on indulging in those later.

We really have had a wonderful day, and Mommy especially feels blessed to have such a wonderful family and a beautiful son!

Love to all,
The Tates

Grow Garden Grow!

About two and half weeks ago we planted a vegetable and herb garden for Earth Day. Tonight we ventured outside to take a better look at our garden. We had checked last week and noticed some tiny squash beginning to grow, but when we investigated tonight this is what we found!

Isn't it great?!! We have a ton more growing. We can't wait to start eating our fresh, organic vegetables! Yummy!!!! William was very proud of his garden and wanted to take a picture with his new squash.

And a few of our garden...
