Dinosaur Fun!

During our visit with Aunt Jolie and Uncle Mike a few weeks ago they gave William one of those eggs that you soak in water for a couple of days and out hatches a dinosaur. It was very cool and William really loved it.

The beginning...

Adding his egg to the water (Day 1)

Checking it out (DAY 1)

Something is hatching at 24 hours!

In order to get William to stop taking the egg out of the water we had to tell him the egg went to sleep. We also had to cover it with a "blanket" so that he would believe us. William would pout and ask "Egg go Na Nas?" Poor baby! 2 days later we were the proud owners of a new dinosaur! As soon as it hatched William became a bit nervous of the dinosaur inside. We're not sure if he thought it was real or not, but eventually he warmed up to the dinosaur and took him for a ride on his trucks. Too cute!

48 hours later...it's a DINOSAUR!

Welcome to the world little 'saur!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Belated Father's Day to all the Daddy's out there!

We had a wonderful day together. Daddy received Ghostbusters the game and some handprint art from William for Father's Day. We decided to get an early start to our day and headed to Guadalupe State Park for some fun in the river.

William and Daddy just love this park. First off, William gets to throw as many rocks into the river as humanly possible. He literally tried to fill a small pond up, but the pond won :-) Then Daddy and William swam and swam and swam. Boy did they have a lot of fun. William loves to go for "rides" on Daddy while Daddy acts like a boat taking Will all around the river. William lost his trunks at one point and was called the Coppertone baby, but we think he is cuter than that baby ;-) We were really proud of him as he tried to swim with lots of kicking and a few arm motions. He also went all the way under water without getting upset. He is such a big boy!!!!

After our morning of fun in the river we headed back home and William crashed. He took a pretty good nap and Mommy and Daddy had some yummy Chinese food for lunch. We love weekends like this!

After Will's nap we just spent a lot of time together hanging out until Nonno and Nina arrived. They came over for Father's Day dinner. Nonno made some yummy steaks, mushroom risotto, and green beans. After they went home, Memaw and Pawpaw spent the night at our house after their exciting day at Schlitterbahn. We didn't get to see them for very long, but it was nice to see them either way.

3 Years Worth of "Will" presents

We have a BIG dinosaur blog entry in the works, so look for that sometime this week!

A Boy and His Cow ?!

Poor Daddy has to work late tonight so William and I are hanging out together. While Mommy was talking to Nana on the phone William asked if he could feed his cow. "Cow eat! Cow eat!" The cow he is referring to is an inflatable ride-on cow that Nana bought him. So found him a Tupperware container for his "cow food." He then walked over to Chelsea's food container and said "cow food." I told him that food is for Chelsea and not cow food. We decided that the left over Easter grass was a more appropriate meal for a cow, and William was so happy that he was able to feed his cow hay. We put some "hay" into the container and Will proceeded to make the cow eat. I just love his imagination.

After that he took his cow for a walk around the house and then wanted to wear one of his hats. Of course the cow needed one as well. How cute is that?!

Here are some pictures I took during feeding time at the Tate Ranch ;-)

William's First Movie Theatre Experience

We have had a great week so far. We have done a little bit of relaxing and swimming this week. Today was a big adventure for William!!!!

During the summer months, Regal Cinema has free movies three times a week for kids and families. We met several of our friends this morning to watch Curious George. This was William's very first trip to a movie theater. When we got there William seemed really excited, but mainly because everyone was eating popcorn around him. :-) Poor kid isn't heavy enough for the chairs so Mommy had to help hold them down during the movie. He did great through the whole movie and really watched most of it. At one point he asked for "more pop-con" so I had to go and get him his own. He had been sharing with another friend. I think he loved seeing George on the screen, but the experience may have made him a little uneasy as he was acting scared when we left. He calmed down once we got home and has talked about the monkey a little bit this afternoon. I don't think Curious George has Cars beat by any stretch of the imagination, but I couldn't have hoped for him to behave any better during the show. Too bad Daddy had to work today. I am sure that William will enjoy going to the movies as he grows. I think the next summer movie we will take him to will be a Veggie Tales movie in July.

Here are some pictures we took before the movie.

Lakeside fun

We had such a fantastic weekend! On Saturday we spent the morning at Six Flags Fiesta, TX. William had fun riding The Wiggles rides with Daddy, but enjoyed the train ride around the park the most. We are really enjoying our season passes, and we can't wait to check out the waterpark. Hopefully this week or next! Saturday evening Mommy went scrapbooking with some friends and Daddy and William played with another friend of ours and his son. Everyone had a great time!

Sunday morning we woke up bright and early and met our dear friend Valerie for breakfast in San Marcos. She has been working in Arkansas for the past 4 months and we have missed her terribly. It was so good to see her and enjoy a little bit of time together. After breakfast we headed to Austin for a visit with Aunt Jolie and Uncle Mike. They made a fantastic feast for lunch. We had some AWESOME grilled shrimp and fish, pasta salad, black beans, grilled corn, and key lime pie for dessert. Oh it was yummy! William devoured the grilled corn on the cob and we found out he likes grilled shrimp. After our wonderful lunch Uncle Mike and Daddy headed to the marina to get the boat ready for William's first grand adventure on the boat. Aunt Jolie, Mommy, and William met them there about an hour later. William really wasn't too sure about the whole boating on the lake thing for awhile. He is such a thinker. He really needs to get the lay of the land before making a decision on whether or not he likes it, and you could really see that with his boat experience. We found a great little cove, dropped anchor, and the adults were ready to swim. Poor William just wasn't ready and had a bit of a scare in the water so we brought him back on board. William played on the boat for awhile and Aunt Jolie found these great duck callers that Will just loved using. At one point Will looked at Uncle Mike and said "OUT!" He wanted Uncle Mike to get in the lake. Once Uncle Mike got in he said "Momma OUT!" So Momma got in the lake. Daddy asked William "Do you want to get in the lake?" and very confidentially he said "YES!" He had such a wonderful time swimming in the lake with Uncle Mike and Daddy. He even jumped off the back of the boat a couple of times. We were all so happy that he enjoyed it. He even helped Uncle Mike drive the boat back to the dock, and on the way back pointed out many things on the lake including sail boats, big boats, and houses. All in all William had just a perfect first time on the boat. We are so proud of him for giving the lake another chance. We can't wait to do it again.

Here is a slideshow of some of our favorite pictures from our boat trip.

Thanks again Aunt Jolie and Uncle Mike for a great Sunday!!!!

We hope everyone has a fantastic week!

It's Been a Busy Week!

It's only Thursday and we have had a ton of adventures this week. Memaw left on Monday so William and Mommy spent most of the day working around the house. On Tuesday we headed to the San Antonio Zoo bright and early to beat the crowds and the heat. We had such a wonderful time with our friends. The boys had a great time playing together, and all were very interested in one of the snakes in the Africa Live exhibit. I won't post pictures of that because Nana may have a heart attack ;-) We even went on a train ride around Brackenridge Park. It really is a tradition and William just loves it. After the zoo we headed to Chuck E Cheese for some lunch and fun. After nap time we watched Will's new favorite movie Cars and played some games together.

On Wednesday we went for an early morning walk with our friend Lily and her son Lucas. We had a wonderful morning with them. Will was so sweet to Lucas and Mommy was very proud of him. Lucas is 10 months old and while they were playing Will found his pacifier. He picked it up, walked over to Lucas, and very gently put it in his mouth. What a sweetie! After naptime our friends Jackie and Stephen came over for a playdate, and then Mommy headed out to a good-bye dinner for Jackie. She and her family are moving to North Carolina at the end of the month. We sure are going to miss them.

Jackie's Good-Bye Dinner

This morning William and Mommy went to the New Braunfels Children's Museum for some morning fun followed by an afternoon swim playdate with our friends. It was Ms. Chrissy's birthday today and she invited us to come join her family and some friends for a swim. It was so much fun and William had a BLAST. He did so well in the water. At first he was very hesitant, but by the end of the afternoon we couldn't get him out of the water. At this moment we wish we had a neighborhood pool.

JUMP!

William and Mommy are going to Boerne tomorrow to have lunch with Daddy. We have missed him terribly this week and will be glad to see him before 6PM.

Happy Summer Everyone!

What a Success!

The month of May has been all about The Arthritis Foundation in the Tate household. Sara had her Scrappin' for Arthritis event at the beginning of the month, and the San Antonio Arthritis Walk was this past weekend. Nana and Memaw came down to join us at our big walk. We are so blessed to have so many friends and family that support us and our favorite charity.

Nana and Sara woke up about 5:30 AM on Saturday to head down to the walk site to help set-up. Thanks to some yummy Starbucks we made it through the morning. We really want to thank Heather (and Cowboy), Chrissy, Kevin, Kaidon, Kaysen, Lily, Lucas, and Margo for coming out and walking with us. Y'all were such a huge support for us this year and we are SO thankful to all of you! We really have some awesome friends and family! We never found out a final head count for the walk, but we think it was by far the best one yet! We had an awesome turn out and Brackenridge Park is a fantastic venue. It just couldn't have been better.

Here is a picture of the 2009 Team Tate (minus a few). Together we were able to raise almost $3300!!!!!!! Isn't that fantastic?!!! A big bIG BIG thank you to everyone who donated!!! We are still amazed at how much we were able to raise this year, and how kind and generous our friends and family are. You all are AMAZING!

Help His Momma Fight Arthritis! (He is just too cute!)

For those of you that don't know, Sara will be chairing the annual Jingle Bell Run for the Arthritis Foundation this December, so get your running shoes on :-)

After the walk we headed to Boerne to show the Moms where Colby works and we peaked around some of the neighborhoods in case we decide to move out that way. It doesn't look too hopeful in Boerne itself. The housing market is quite expensive out there, but maybe things will look better when we are ready to buy.

Saturday night Colby and Sara got to have dinner with some good friends of theirs while the grandmas took care of William. It was a great night for everyone. William sure did enjoy having both Nana and Memaw together. He keep giving them hugs and pushing their heads together like they were suppose to be together. It was really cute. Nana headed back Sunday afternoon and the rest of us went to Guadalupe State Park. We had a great time and William really enjoyed the river. Daddy took him in and Will rode him like a boat. They splashed and played and had a fantastic time. That will be a repeat this summer for sure!

This week we have some fun activities planned so look for some more updates.

Love to all,
The Tates
