Our Gulf Trip and Nana's Visit

Hey Y'all!

We had such a wonderful trip to the Gulf Coast despite Hurricane Dolly's decision to hit the Texas coast on the last day of our vacation. Needless to say we decided to pack up a day early and head back to drier ground. We ended up staying 3 days and 2 nights at a condo in Port Aransas. We were about 2 blocks from the beach (with a boardwalk to take us there), and it was awesome! Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, and the three of us all stayed together in the condo. William really enjoyed the beach. The first day we weren't too sure he was going to enjoy the water, but he discovered the seagulls and was thoroughly enjoying them. On our second day, William was chasing the seagulls around when he decided to make a b-line for the water. From then on he loved both the shore and the water. Grandma got some great pictures of him on our trip. We all had such a great time. It was so exciting for Colby and I to really watch William as he experienced the ocean and the beach for the first time. It made us feel very blessed to be able to have those moments.

Once we made it home we spent the rest of the week hanging out with Nana. Mommy and Daddy even got to go out on a date night...thanks NANA!!!! On Saturday we went to the San Antonio Zoo. It was really hot and muggy, but a train ride at the end of our trip around Brakenridge Park made us all feel better. Every time we go to the zoo seems like a new experience for William. He notices another animal each time, and this trip was no exception. He was in love with one of the animals in the Africa Live exhibit. It almost looked like a prairie dog, but I can't remember it's real name. He was so excited about it that he literally jumped back and danced around while watching it. After visiting the major exhibits we headed to Tiny Tot Nature Spot, a great little place for children under 5 to play at the zoo. William always has fun there and Nana got a kick out of Will playing an African drum.

Here are the pictures from our exciting week.

We had a great week with our family and are looking forward to seeing everyone the weekend of Kati's baptism. We get to see both Colby and Sara's sides of the family that weekend.

Take care,

Colby, Sara, and William
